Slit, In Warm Light
“Slit, in warm light” is a series of photographs with different lives. In it’s first installation, images were printed large and placed in the corners of a room. The only light present was amber, similar to a photographic darkroom. With time, images revealed themselves as your eyes adjusted to the low light conditions. In it’s second installation, one photograph stood fully illuminated. A crack of light in the middle met the viewer at gallery height and begged to be touched due to its matte toothed texture. Questioning whether it was a drawing or a photograph drew their noses closer to see if they are right. The movement of their body in and out investigating the space created excitement.
